
The Algerian bus station management company (Sogral) announced on Sunday the strengthening of its domestic lines, in anticipation of Eid El Adha with more than 1,100 departures to the various wilayas of the country, according to a press release from the society.
The company intends to provide more than 1,100 departures in anticipation of Aïd El Adha, i.e. 300 additional departures in the program from the Caroubier station which provides for nearly 850 departures. This measure aims to « optimize the operationality » of Sogral for « better control of the large number of travelers, through the various stations, particularly during religious and national holidays ».
Sogral has also put in place a proactive action plan with the various national security bodies and civil protection to ensure that general order is respected inside stations and ensure rapid intervention in the event of an emergency, in particular. in view of the growing number of travelers.
Coordination has also been established with several transport companies with unused coaches to double the number of trips. Docks have also been reserved for carriers approved by the various transport departments to carry out their activity on Eid days. It was also decided to double the number of health, safety and maintenance staff in all stations by suspending all weekly and recuperation leave for all workers until after Eid.
In addition, « Sogral » has decided to adopt the system of permanence at all the bus stations, to ensure a 24-hour service and to send notes to the managers of all the service structures inside the stations. , to ensure presence during the Eid days. Regarding compliance with the sanitary protocol, the company has taken a set of preventive measures, including the use of devices to measure the temperature of travelers at the entrances of most bus stations and respect for the entrances and exits of stations.
Regular sterilization and disinfection operations are also planned, and travelers will be obliged to wear protective masks, whether for carriers or travelers, in addition to permanent awareness-raising actions on the need for sterilization of the vehicle. inside the buses before their departure, and to avoid overloading on the sidewalks. The carriers are also obliged to reduce the number of passengers to 50% of the capacity of the vehicles, « in coordination with all the social partners and the users », according to the press release.
