The National Economic, Social and Environmental Council (CNESE) is studying the possibilities of manufacturing an Algerian electric car, its president, Rédha Tir, said on Wednesday in Algiers, believing that Algeria has all the means to achieve this type of large-scale projects.

According to Mr. Tir, Algeria harbors renowned wonders in various sectors relating to the development of such a project, in addition to having the natural resources necessary to make it a reality, such as iron and steel.

The president of the CNESE considers, in this regard, that « nothing prevents the Algerians from nourishing such an ambition ».

« The CNESE remains receptive to all initiatives and encourages all national capacities, in particular SMEs and start-ups, which are invited to reflect on such projects, not limited to the field of the automotive industry but by prospecting for other sectors. , especially the pharmaceutical industry, « he said. The president of this Council insisted, in this sense, on the imperative to develop the Algerian human resource in the field of innovation and its valuation « with the aim of building a real industrial policy which takes into account the environmental requirements » .
